ABI's Little Stitches
ABI's Little Stitches
Hi there! My name is Jenn, and I am the face behind ABI’s Little Stitches.
First off, I want to give a huge shout out to FMW and this amazing group of gorgeous and supportive women. Thank you for allowing me to bring my upcycled jewelry creations to your group.
The military has always been a part of my life. My dad was a SGT in the Marines and now my husband is a Navy Chief. I have always appreciated the closeness that military women show to others, even if I am not the active duty one, I have been so blessed by those who are, and with being a mom to 3 amazing and beautiful daughters, I can only hope to show them the same support and determination that I have witnessed from such an amazing group of women.
I began ABI’s Little Stitches back in 2014, after about the 4th military move. I have always been a crafty person and I really wanted to share that with others. The main idea behind this particular line of jewelry was to repurpose something that was otherwise being discarded. As a family who taught our children the respect and responsibility of firearm use, spent shell casings were always collected and treated with care and brass was always recycled and disposed of in the proper manner. But that seemed like a waste to me. I decided to clean them up and see what I could make out of them.
The lightweight brass shell casings are very easy to work with and bring such a uniqueness to jewelry that you don’t see everyday. Adding the leather fringe was another way to repurpose a material that was too small for other crafts. Adding beads and crystals give these upcycled earrings a little sparkle. Each pair is unique and one of a kind. You can leave the leather long or I can customize them to a shorter length.
Again, I want to thank you all so much for letting me share my story and my jewelry.
I am always interested in making custom orders as well! You can contact me here or thru my IG @abislittlestitches.
